In honor of these two getting married yesterday, I wanted to share an engagement shoot I did earlier this fall.
have know Brooke for several years as we went to church together and in fact she was our pianist for a few years. Talk about talent! I always thought she was such a beauty and had one of those sweet personalities with an even keeed disposition. All I can say is Dan, you are one lucky dude to get this one.
I love when my clients have their own ideas for photos. I had never met Dan before and he was the quiet, thoughtful type of guy. I was pleasantly surprised that he had some of his own ideas for their photos to make them a bit more personal. He honestly was not a fan of the regular old posed shots. He wanted them to be very casual and unrehearsed. My favorite photos are usually the ones that look spontaneous and candid so I appreciated the fact that he wanted me to capture those types of moments during their session.
They also had some fun ideas and we did this adorable series of Dan roping roping Brooke. I love how cute they are! 🙂
Brooke wanted to incorporate some scripture into their engagement memories. How awesome that a couple starts with a faith-based foundation. They wanted to have their bible open to a meaningful scripture so they chose Ruth 1:16
“Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.”
Although I do not photograph weddings, I did get to design Dan and Brooke’s wedding announcments. They chose the following beautiful portrait for one side so those who received the invite would have a nice 5×7 of them as a keepsake; and the other side was a simple, rustic design with all the pertinent information for guests.
I wish these two a happy life together forever! Can you imagine how gorgeous their children will be?
